Overview:
The provision of enrichment to the rodent housing environment is an important component of animal husbandry. This month, Allentown partners with board-certified laboratory animal veterinarian, Dr. Tim Mandrell, to present a webinar detailing how enrichment can improve the living conditions of laboratory animals and provide them with opportunities to behave in ways that are specific to their species.

Presenter(s):
Dr. Tim Mandrell is a board-certified laboratory animal veterinarian who has spent his career in academia, government and industry. He currently provides services that include vivarium planning and research animal program consulting for institutions in the US and abroad. His professional interests include vivarium planning, animal biosafety, and occupational health and safety. Dr. Mandrell is a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine, author or co-author of over 60 published articles, abstracts and book chapters, Secretary-Treasurer for ACLAM, and Secretary-Treasurer for AALAS. Dr. Mandrell is also an Ad Hoc Specialist for AAALAC. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Comparative Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
