BRAD 2022 Webinar - Gone Fishing: How Zebrafish Can Teach Us About Human Health and Disease

When:  Apr 21, 2022 from 01:30:00 PM to 02:30:00 PM (ET)
Gone Fishing: How zebrafish Can Teach Us About Human Health and Disease
Presented by: Florence Marlow, Ph.D. from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

We have all experienced illness and disease, either ourselves or our loved ones and friends. Sometimes illness has a known cause like an environmental exposure or infection with a pathogen, but other times our own genes and cells cause or contribute to the disease. Dr. Marlow’s research focuses on reproductive health and fertility using a vertebrate animal model, the zebrafish. Her talk will explore how this tiny vertebrate came to be an important genetic model for discovery of the genes that contribute to human health and disease.
